After graduation, I started my professional career in 2006 as an attorney at a law firm at Madrid, where I was a made a partner during my more than 10-year tenure there. During this time, I was responsible for a number of national and international insolvency proceedings.
In 2012, I earned a master’s degree in International Business Insolvency at San Pablo CEU University in Madrid.
In 2015, I started working as a freelance, combining my work as a freelance lawyer with specific training in legal translation and translation for international organisations. Since 2015, I have been combining my time between my activities as a freelance lawyer and legal and institutional translation.
I am currently a lawyer-linguist for several international organisations, including the International Criminal Court, UNICEF, the OECD and the Inter-American Development Bank.
In the legal field I specialised in Criminal Law and more specifically in legal assistance in crimes related to gender violence and child protection. I am currently a member of the Valencia Public Defence Service (Turno de Oficio de Valencia).

JEAN-PHILIPPE MENOTTI

After graduating from ISIT as a translator specialising in international affairs in 2003, I started working as a freelance translator the following year, specialising in finance and asset management.
In 2007, in parallel with my freelance activity, I joined RR Donnelley Financial (now Donnelley Financial Solutions) in Paris, where I managed various communication and financial publishing projects for major French groups (Sanofi, Total, Alcatel Lucent, etc.) as well as large-scale financial transactions (IPOs, high-yield debt issues, etc.). This gave me the opportunity to gain extensive experience in working with the shareholder relations departments of these groups and with the bankers and lawyers involved in the transactions.
In 2011, I became a full-time member of the company’s translation department (since acquired by SDL), where I was in charge of the Paris-based project management team for major accounts (Engie, Suez, etc.) and international law firms (Sullivan & Cromwell, Jones Day, etc.). Subsequently, I contributed to the opening of the company’s Madrid office, where I built up and managed a team of multi-talented project managers who were trained to assist the different platforms in London, Luxembourg, New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
In 2015, I left the company to resume my activity as a freelance translator with a double specialisation in finance and creative translation for corporate communications.
I also collaborated with Irene in our joint business consultancy activity. Now, with the foundation of Elettra Languages, we are both fully dedicated to providing language services to our clients.
